Personal Information on Your CV Could Result in Identity Theft

A while back I was kicking up my heals about how people don't come back to you if you are unsuccessful when applying for a job.  This got me thinking.  Are all jobs advertised on the internet the real deal?  The unsurprising answer is no...

Once again I've done a bit of poking about and found some pretty interesting articles about how people are taking advantage of the current high unemployment rate to steal personal information for the purpose of identity theft from something as unassuming as a CV.

Think about it.  What do you put on your CV?  Name? Check.  ID Number? Check.  Contact Number? Check.  E-mail Address? Check.  Location? Check.  Education History? Check.  Employment History? Check.  Everything that identity theft dreams are made of!

Below are links to some of the articles that I found that advise you on what steps to take to prevent identity theft.  I, for one, am going to remove all online CV's that I've posted and start taking serious precautions when applying for a job via the internet.
